Tentative stitching...

I have been 'feeling my way', a little bit of tentative stitching on the beginnings of my slow cloth. I'm finding I'm dithering a lot, probably overthinking the process. I think for me doing this cloth will be a lot about trial and error. About allowing the quilt to evolve (rather than being pre-planned to the n'th degree). I have done a little more stitching already this week, so next week should show more progress...I want to add more fabric elements. snippet of some stitching.

I am enjoying my journalling....I love this page for its simplicity.
It has been a wonderful week for art mail...I have received a couple of pieces I bought online recently and also from a swap with a fellow owl lover. I will share some photos next post.

YOU ARE SUBLIMELY, EXACTLY, HOW YOU NEED TO BE AT THIS MOMENT.

-SARK-

Enjoy your week!

Hi Jacky,

The slow cloth is looking really beautiful. I'll have to refresh my memory on how it was the last time we saw it, but I love the discharged grey cloth and the little trees and stitches. Very nice!

Is that a painted magnolia, or a collage piece. It's REALLY nice! You should scan these and make them into prints!

I am really getting antsy to get back to my slow cloth. It really helped to see Jude's vidoe this morning. I relate to your dithering. It is looking great and I love your journal page.

Your cloth is looking wonderful!! I think that it might be hard for those of us who have done many swaps and thus have deadlines, to take things slowly and not overthink things!!! You are doing great things here- I love being able to look at the close up. Your work and yor referals to Jude's work have inspired me to start a Slow Cloth all in white!!
Big Hugs!

Lovely slow cloth! Starting anything new takes a little while before you get into a comfortable rhythm.

Wonderful slow cloth, Jacky! I like to allow the cloth to evolve, too. It's so much more attractive, I think.

Love it! Both the slow cloth and the journal page!

The colors in the slow cloth are soothing, I bet the stitching on it is soothing to do as well!

Your slow cloth is very beautiful Jacky and I love the colours you are working with. I am also finding the first tentative steps on my slow cloth are the hardest ... where to start ... how to progress. The actual hand stitching is very therapeutic. I love time it enables to think about things as a whole and put the world to rights. I also love your journal pages very much. I share a love of inspiration books with you. Have a wonderful week. Look forward to more slow cloth!
