Something different ???

These are my boys.... Sam on the left and Matt on the right with me on Christmas Day... I do love my boys! So lovely this year to have Matt home on Christmas Day
- first time in four years, I was a very happy mum. And I have to share my Opportunity shop finds.... Loved this little brass bowl, thought it would be great for bits and bobs. Plus the beautiful set of damask napkins ($2 for four, what a bargain) and a lovely old table cloth. Not sure what I will do with the damask, but sure it will come in handy for a stitching project a la Karen Ruane style.

And actually, this is the something a bit different. Below.......Yes, another Klimt doll, but I have tried to make her face in Picasso style??? I have painted the face half yellow, half red, click for a closer look. Not sure about her yet, but have yet to embellish the body, so still time to decide if I like the face or not. What a mish mash... Klimt, Picasso, Kaffe Fassett.


And finally. On Sunday my sister Lee, her husband Rob and I went to The Barn at Jindivick for lunch. Afterwards I took this photo from the road outside the restaurant. Such a beautiful area and such a beautiful day (and the food and company were good too!!!).

    I simply LOVE that brass bowl... and the feeling of picking up a second-hand treasure and generally rummaging through charity shops :)

    How wonderful to be with both of your sons over Christmas...I know what that feels like when it does not happen each year! I would love to go to the Barn! The photograph looks very much like an area I lived near in Santa Barbara. You inspire me to post about my finds at my favorite Hospice Care and Share thrift store in Boulder this weekend...I have started making "Crowns." I bought some great silver serving dishes from the 1800's for $3.00 to experiment with...Love your mixed up Klimts!

    Well done on your op shop finds (I must try to get to a local op shop in my area).

    And your Picasso/Klimt/KF doll is fabulous! So bright and colorful. Can't wait to see her when she is finished. A tribal feel.

    first i was thinking, pretty girl in the midst of the boyz. then i read the text ... proud mama you can be!! proud boys too since they have such a beautiful young mama!! who is so talented and creative, just look at yet another fabulous klimt doll.

    What a beautiful Mum between two very ahndsome boys!!!!! I should say Men because they ARE men but as a Mum myself , our boys will ALWAYS be our boys!!!!!! You can't possibly be old enough to have kids of this age!!!!!
    I love your new doll! I think that all of the gentlemen that you have honored with her would be very pleased!! Can't wait to see how you embellish her!!
    The photo that you took is really beautiful- I am sure that it will work it's way into your art somehow!!

    Thanks for dropping by my blog. Just love your Klimt dolls - so clever. And well done on starting on your own piece inspired by Jude.     Oh I know how you feel when children come home..we should have it drilled into our heads when they are born that someday they will leave and live their own life... it's a hard one.. one of my daughters lives on the far side of our country... 5,776 kilometres away....

    I adore the Klimt, Kaffe Fassett, Picasso and what could be a better combination for a colorful doll...
